The Department of Legal Information and Electronic Resources was established on November 1, 2023 as a result of reorganization of the public legal information center and electronic reading room. The department is an independent structural subdivision of the library, which includes information and legal resources on various types of media. The Department of Legal Information and Electronic Resources provides the public with free access to standard legal information, as well as provides assistance in the educational process on legal issues to teachers, students and pupils.
The department's collection contains electronic documents on universal subjects on CD-ROM and DVD-ROM. A collection of sound literature, audio plays, audio excursions, educational and reference books, encyclopedias, documentary popular science films of «Discovery» channel and many others are presented at the service of users.
The users are provided with free access to the databases of own generation and remote access, including the information resources of the Virtual Reading Room of the National Library of Belarus, as well as to the open access resources on the Internet. To work with some databases, it is necessary to register.
In order to popularize the department a separate group in the social network «VKontakte» «PCPI.vlib.by» has been created and is functioning.
