Water is the basis of our entire life, the most important gift of nature and irreplaceable wealth. Without water, the existence of living organisms is impossible.
Water reserves on Earth are colossal. However, fresh water reserves are relatively small, since the huge mass of water in the World Ocean has a high salinity.
The problem of drinking water shortage is the most important challenge of the 21st century. The right to water, clean drinking water is a natural human right. Ensuring it is the task of the leaders of countries and the world community.
The Department of Information and Bibliographic Work has prepared an annotated bibliographic list «Water is a wealth that must be protected!» The manual presents publications from the collections of the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin, dedicated to water – the most important, main and extraordinary wealth of the Earth.
