The lecture «Our Brilliant Contemporary» by composer Alexander Ivanov as part of the library project «Music for Everyone» was held on October 24 in the Department of Literature on Art.
Alexander I. shared unique secrets of the creative legacy of the outstanding Leningrad composer, pianist and teacher Boris Tishchenko (1939–2010), known for his encyclopedic knowledge and innovative approaches to creating musical works. The lecturer dwelt in detail on Tishchenko's influence on the development of modern music, noting his significance as one of the most outstanding composers of his time.
In addition, Alexander I. presented the monograph by Irina Donskaya-Tishchenko «The Flight of Time of Boris Tishchenko». This publication presents rare letters, articles and interviews of the composer himself, as well as fragments from the documentary film «Monologue of the Soul». The book contains biographical information and warm memories of Boris Ivanovich by his contemporaries, which allows for a deeper understanding of his personality and contribution to musical culture.
The participants of the event were able to take part in a lively discussion of topics related to the legacy of Boris Tishchenko and the contemporary musical context.
