Round table to the 30th anniversary of the Presidency Institute of the Republic of Belarus

The Presidency Institute is an integral element of the system of supreme bodies of state power, is one of its most important symbols, allows Belarus to remain a peaceful country and develop dynamically.
On July, 10 the round table «30th anniversary of the Presidency Institute of the Republic of Belarus – 30 Years of Development», took place in the library.
The head of the Vitebsk Regional Library – Tatyana Adamyan, opened the event. The Head noted that on July 10, 2024 our country marks an important date in the political life of the sovereign Belarus - 30 years of the Presidency Institute of the Republic of Belarus.
The event moderator, Deputy Head of the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin – Olga Komendantova outlined the main topics of the event and introduced the speakers.
Larisa Guzova, the leading bibliographer of the department of legal information and electronic resources of Vitebsk Regional Library, made a historical excursion connected with the establishment of the presidency institute of the Republic of Belarus and emphasized that the institute of presidency in our country dates back to March 15, 1994, when the first in the history of sovereign Belarus Constitution was adopted, where for the first time in the system of the highest bodies of state power the post of the President was envisaged.
Sviatoslav Mikhaylov, Head of the information and analytical department of newspaper «Vitebskiye Vesti», justified the All-Belarusian People's Assembly as the highest achievement of the sovereign Belarus, the highest representative body of the people's power of the Republic of Belarus, which is enshrined in the Constitution. Kirill Filiptsov, chief specialist of ideological work and youth affairs of the Zheleznodorozhny district, announced the achievements in the socio-economic development of Vitebsk region.
The leading archivist of the State Archive of Vitebsk Region, Kristina Bogush, talked about the long way of formation of the state symbols of the Republic of Belarus, which today symbolize the sovereignty, independence, national spirit and unity of the Belarusian people.
