On May 20, the final lesson of the SCRATCH programming course took place.

On March 25, the staff of the electronic reading room held an introductory lesson of the course «Scratch programming environment» for junior high school students.

21 ноября в Витебской областной библиотеке состоялась V Международная научно-практическая конференция «Віцебскі край», посвященная Году малой родины. Для участия в конференции было подано более 80 заявок, около 50 участников приняли очное участие в конференции.

5–6 мая в г. Себеж Псковской области состоялся V Международный книжный форум «Русский Запад», в котором приняли участие представители России, Беларуси и Латвии. Организаторами данного мероприятия выступили Государственный комитет Псковской области по культуре и туризму, Администрация Себежского района, Псковская областная универсальная научная библиотека, Себежская центральная районная библиотека.

On June, 13 Vitebsk regional library took part in the VII Forum of librarians of Belarus, organized by the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian library association, the National library of Belarus, the Fundamental library of the Belarusian state university.

On November 24, the VIII scientific-practical conference «The Vitebsk Region: To the Year of Historical Memory» was held in the library. More than 60 Belarusian scientists-historians and regional ethnographers shared their experience and the results of new researches in different fields of historical science.

On November 19, 2020, the VІ International Scientific and Practical Conference «Vitebsk Region», dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, took place at the Vitebsk Regional Library.

On November 25 in the Vitebsk regional library the VІІ International scientific-practical conference «Vitebsk region», dedicated to the Year of National Unity was held.

On November 21–22, the Vitebsk Regional Library hosted the X scientific and practical conference «Vitebsk Region», dedicated to the 1050th anniversary of the city of Vitebsk and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

4-6 декабря 2019 года Псковская областная универсальная научная библиотека при участии Комитета по культуре Псковской области, Псковской библиотечной ассоциации и Витебской областной библиотеки имени В. И. Ленина провела XII Международную Школу качества.

On September 5–6, the Smolensk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after A. Tvardovsky is hosting the XIII interregional scientific and practical conference «Smolensk residents in the service of the Fatherland» as part of the implementation of the project «Library Cluster of the Smolensk Region: A communicative and intellectual platform for the scientific and local history community».

The 14^th Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference «Smolensk Residents in the Service of the Fatherland» was held on September 29 at the A. Tvardovsky Smolensk Regional Universal Scientific Library.

С 7 по 11 февраля 2007 г. прошла XIV Минская международная книжная выставка-ярмарка "Книги Беларуси – 2007", участие в которой приняли и представители нашей библиотеки. На ярмарке они представили образцы печатных изданий, разработанных в отделах библиотеки.

The regional stage of the XXII Republican St. Euphrosyne Pedagogical Readings on the topic «The Role of the Orthodox Book in Spiritual, Moral and Patriotic Education» was held on November 22 at the Vitebsk Regional Institute for Education Development.

On February 20, within the framework of the XXII Sretensky Regional Educational Readings «Basics of Orthodox Culture the session of the section «Library – the center of spiritual and moral education and upbringing. Experience of interaction between educational institutions and the Church» was held in Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin.

В рамках XXIV областных Сретенских чтений 19 февраля в Витебской областной библиотеке имени В. И. Ленина состоялось мероприятие «Образование и духовное развитие: педагогические стратегии устойчивого будущего».

20–21 ноября в Витебской областной библиотеке состоялась XІ научно-практическая конференция «Віцебскі край», посвященная 80-летию Победы в Великой Отечественной войне. Организаторами конференции выступили Витебская областная библиотека имени В. И. Ленина, Институт истории Национальной академии наук Беларуси, Витебский областной краеведческий музей.

In the context of mini-project «Spielothek in der Bibliothek» the employees of German Reading Room Department come to Vitebsk schools on the last Thursday of each month.

Memorial evening for writer and journalist Sergei Rublevsky took place at the library on December 9.

15 февраля 1989 года завершился вывод советских войск из Республики Афганистан. Война в Афганистане продолжалась более девяти лет и унесла жизни пятнадцати тысяч советских солдат, среди которых и сто тринадцать уроженцев Витебской области. В этом году мы отмечаем 35-летие вывода советских войск из Республики Афганистан.
