«Wonderful Moments of Christmas»

The Orthodox Youth Christmas Ball, entitled «Wonderful Moments of Christmas», was held on January 11 in the assembly hall of the Vitebsk Regional Library.

The event, timed to coincide with the Nativity of Christ, was organized by the «Pravoslavichi» youth association of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God «Healer» with the support of the library's reading room staff and the Vitebsk Diocese.

Archpriest Alexander Kovalev, head of the youth department of the Vitebsk Diocese, addressed the participants with a welcoming address, congratulating them on the holiday and emphasizing the importance of such gatherings for Orthodox and secular youth.

Vera Kolodkina and Nika Tatarchuk performed musical performances, and choreographer Anna Kochenkova, who led the preparatory classes, assisted the participants with their dances. The ball program included polonaise, branle, marazulya, padegras, quadrille, polka-troika, and brook. A special highlight of the evening was the traditional waltz.

During intermission, guests explored a colorful Christmas exhibition prepared by the reading room staff, immersing themselves in a fairytale atmosphere.

The appearance of Father Frost, who presented gifts to all the dancing couples, added a touch of magic to the celebration.

The ball was a true celebration of harmony and grace. We thank the participants for these wonderful moments and hope that the collaboration between the library and the Vitebsk Diocese will continue this wonderful tradition, strengthen faith, and provide the younger generation with an example of a wonderful and inspiring holiday.
