The role of the prosecutor's office today is, first of all, supervision of the precise and uniform execution of laws and other regulatory legal acts on the territory of the Republic of Belarus by republican government bodies and other state organizations, local representative, executive and administrative bodies and other organizations, officials and citizens.

The Department of Legal Information and Electronic Resources has prepared an information digest «Guarding the law and order». It contains information revealing the activities of the prosecutor's office of the Republic of Belarus, pays attention to the profession of a prosecutor and the main areas of his work, reflects the pages of the history of the Vitebsk provincial prosecutor's office, provides information about the prosecutor's employees of the Vitebsk region who fought during the Great Patriotic War.

This information digest is addressed to students and teachers of law faculties, as well as employees of the prosecutor's office and other law enforcement agencies.
