Jubilee creative evening of Tatyana Kotovich and presentation of her monograph «Victory over the Sun»

On March 28, as a part of the series «Local lore meetings», the anniversary creative evening of Professor and Doctor of Art History Tatyana Kotovich was held in the library.

Tatyana Kotovich is a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, the winner of the honorary title «Person of the Year of Vitebsk-2019», the author of about 40 books and more than 500 scientific and creative publications.

It is not by chance that the Book was a main topic at the creative evening. Tatyana told about David Simanovich and Semyon Kazimirovsky, who left a significant trace in her fate. She reminded about her very first publications and book series «Sakrum», «Time Loops» and «Vitebsk compendium» published in recent years.

The monograph «Victory over the Sun» is devoted to the history of creation of the eponymous futuristic opera. Tatyana Kotovich told the participants of the meeting about the atmosphere that reigned at the beginning of the twentieth century in society, art and literature as well as about Alexei Kruchenykh, Velimir Khlebnikov, Mikhail Matyushin and Kazimir Malevich. She also raised the issue of the influence of Russian cubo-futurism on European painting. This story was informative and interesting like all of lectures of Tatyana Kotovich. A video clip with the song «Capital of the Region» by Mark Fradkin and Evgeny Dolmatovsky, which is close to all Vitebsk residents symbolically finished the story.

Numerous congratulations on the anniversary date addressed to Tatyana Viktorovna included sincere words of gratitude for her contribution to the development of art history and the preservation of cultural heritage, as well as for the opportunity to touch the world of art through her work.
