Literary and educational game «Belarusian Folk Holidays»

On March 21, within the framework of the project «Lessons of Civic Culture in Different Languages» the staff of the Foreign Editions Department held a literary and educational game «Belarusian Folk Holidays» dedicated to Slavic calendar holidays.

Pupils of the 6th grade of Vitebsk secondary school № 40 named after M. Gromov recognized more about such holidays as Christmas and carols, Maslenitsa, Semik and Ivan Kupala. The exciting game let them not only to learn new words in English related to the holidays. The children guessed riddles, collected proverbs and easily pronounced difficult tongue twisters. Immersion in the culture and traditions of the Belarusian folk calendar enriched them with new knowledge and skills.
