
Meeting dedicated to the «105 years since the proclamation of the Socialist Soviet Republic of Belarus»

On January 23, a round table «105 years since the proclamation of the Socialist Soviet Republic of Belarus» took place in the library.
The significance of this date in the history of our country was noted in the speeches by the head of the library – Tatyana Adamyan and the chief specialist of the culture department of Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, candidate of historical sciences – Denis Yurchak.
The lead archivist of the State Archive of Vitebsk Region, Svetlana Myasoedova, in her report «On the issue of including the Vitebsk province into the SSRB», spoke about documents from the archive funds on this period. The head of History and Cultural Heritage Department of Vitebsk State University named after P. M. Masherov, Candidate of Historical Sciences Anatoly Dulov prepared a report «"Emancipation from above": the experience of solving the women's question in the BSSR in 1920s». The speech by the head of the local history department, Larisa Rogacheva, was dedicated to covering the period of the establishment of Soviet power and the formation of the BSSR in the collections of conference materials «Vitebsk Region» and in the electronic resource of the library «Pridvinsky Region: History and Modernity».
Chairman of the Coordination Council of Organizational Structures of Public Associations and Political Parties of Vitebsk Larisa Olenskaya, Deputy Chairman of Vitebsk Regional Council of Veterans Mikhail Leshchinsky and the representatives of educational institutions of the city took part in the round table meeting.
