Online meeting «About the temporal and eternal» with Archimandrite Melchizedek (Artyukhin)

On December 5, within the framework of the target complex program «Living Word of Spiritual Wisdom», an interesting and useful meeting with Archimandrite Melchizedek (Artyukhin) was held in the library in an online format.

Archimandrite Melchizedek is the rector of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Yasenevo (a metochion of the Optina Pustyn in Moscow) and the Church of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Yasenevo, a well-known preacher, a press-secretary for the Synodal Department for Monasteries and Monasticism of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, the author of many books and Orthodox programs on television and radio.

He has been already holding meetings with young people for several years. Such a unique opportunity presented itself to the youth audience from Vitebsk State Technical College. Father Melchizedek in his inimitable style revealed the topic: what eternal values the young generation should now pay attention, what modern appeals are destructive to the soul of a young person and how to direct their energy to positive goals.

The librarians of the general reading room prepared a book exhibition of the works by Archimandrite Melchizedek, written in the favorite and understandable to ordinary readers format in figurative and vivid explanations and on concrete examples. Undoubtedly, these stories, taken from real contemporary life, will help people to understand the basics of the Christian faith and apply them in their lives.
