On November 15, the evening presentation «In the embrace of fairy tale fantasies» by illustrator Elena Senko and writer Stasya Narkevich (Anastasia Lazebnaya) was held at the library.
This creative duet has been formed long ago: Elena Senko made illustrations for the coloring books «Violetta, Grandmother and the Charming Dart», «Amazing events on an incredible Planet», «How a Cornflower saved a Kingdom». This year a new book by Stasya Narkevich entitled «Fairy Tale box», which includes 10 fairy tales, a script and a play was published. Elena Senko became a graphic designer and one of the illustrations was created by the amateur artist Natalya Trashkova.
The assembly hall of the library was decorated with illustrations, that immediately attracted the attention of the guests. This is the first personal exhibition of Elena Senko as an illustrator. Her created fairy-tale images accurately convey the personality of fairy-tale characters, their moods and attract attention of viewers by their colorfulness. Stasya Narkevich, inspired by the beautiful drawings, made pictures in the batik technique on their basis. The head of the art literature department Elena Vasilevskaya told the audience about Elena Senko, who works at Vitebsk State College of Culture and Arts and drew attention of the participants of the evening to the features of the artist's work. A short interview was taken from Elena Senko and Stasya Narkevich by the head of the Department of local lore Larisa Rogacheva helped to learn more about the creative cooperation between the artist and the writer.
The leading master of the stage of the Belarusian theater «Lyalka» Yury Frankov read the fairy tale «Spidey and Linen» from the «Fairy tale box» book. Stasya Narkevich made a wonderful surprise for everyone present and offered a lottery with incredible things created in the batik technique.
Congratulations and gratitude for this holiday of art and the Belarusian word sounded to Elena Senko and Stasya Narkevich from the poets Galina Sinyakova, Natalya Solovyeva, representatives of the primary organization of veterans of the Vitebsk women's movement as well as all the participants of the evening presentation.
The exhibition of illustrations by Elena Senko will be working on the third floor of the library for a month.
