On October 20, a presentation of the book by Arkady Podlipsky «Vera Kharuzhaya in occupied Vitebsk» took place in the library. This is the author's second book about the Hero of the Soviet Union Vera Kharuzhaya.

Arkady corresponds with the family of Vera Khoruzhaya's daughter and on the eve of the presentation he received a letter of appeal to the participants of the event from Vera Kharuzhaya's daughter Anna Shlyapnikova and granddaughter Vera Cheremisina. The letter was read by the head of the department of local lore Larisa Rogacheva.

Arkady Podlipsky dedicated his book to the memory of all participants of Vitebsk patriotic underground resistance group during the Great Patriotic War. Vera Kharuzhaya was sent to Vitebsk to head the underground resistance group, also to create a leading center and to coordinate the activities of underground groups of the city and underground loners. At the presentation Arkady Podlipsky talked about the way of Vera Kharuzhaya's group to the occupied territory, her collaborators and the Vitebsk days of the brave underground fighter.

The book, which aroused great interest of those present, will shortly appear in the collection of the library.
