On September 6, on the occasion of the 505th anniversary of Belarusian printing and the Day of Belarusian writing, the library hosted a literary and musical evening «Dedicated to the printed word» where visitors got acquainted with the book heritage of the Belarusian first printer Francysk Skaryna.
Vice-Rector for Educational Work of the Vitebsk Theological Seminary Priest Dionysius Andreev spoke about the church's attitude to Skorina's heritage.
The event was attended by members of the Vitebsk regional branch of the Union of Belarusian writers Tamara Krasnova-Gusachenko and Sergey Krasov.
Tamara Krasnova-Gusachenko spoke about the participation of the Vitebsk delegation in the Day of Belarusian Writing in Dobrush and donated books to the library.
Sergey Krasov presented his new book «The Second Attempt» in the style of patriotic fiction.
The performance of the group «Kovcheg» enriched the event.
The staff of the general reading room prepared a book exhibition «A book opens a knowledge world».
