On July 14, a travelling photo exhibition titled «National Library of Belarus» took place in the library.

The general director of the National Library of Belarus Oksana Knizhnikova thanked the leadership of the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin for the opportunity to introduce the inhabitants of Vitebsk to the history of «the diamond of knowledge», its architectural features and artistic design.

The exhibition presents 24 works by the photo artists Alexander Zhernoseck, Lolia of the Macedonian, Anatoly Dribas, Valery Kharchenko, Sergey Plytkevich and Viktor Sugloba. This is a unique opportunity to take a walk around the national library and to see it with the eyes of photo artists.

The travelling photo exhibition «The National Library of Belarus» is timed to the 100th anniversary of the institution and tells about the modern national library as a large-scale multifunctional complex, which combines high technologies and the best traditions, modern design and unconditional comfort. The original building is made in the form of a precious stone symbolizing the value of knowledge stored in the library. Thanks to such an unusual architectural decision of Mikhail Vinogradov and Viktor Kramarenko, the Belarusian diamond has repeatedly been in the lists of the most amazing, unusual structures of the world.
