World Book Capital

The World Book Capital (WBC) is an initiative of UNESCO which recognizes cities for promoting books and fostering reading.
Guadalajara (Mexico) was named World Book Capital for the year 2022 by the Director-General of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
The city was selected for its comprehensive plan for policies around the book to trigger social change, combat violence and build a culture of peace.
The Department of Periodicals has prepared a video presentation «World Book Capital».
