A clean environment is a key to a healthy life

On April 7, an information hour for high school students within the informational and educational project «School of Active Citizen» («SAC») on the topic «Pride for Belarus. A Clean Environment is a Key to a Healthy Life».

The event was organized 2 by the staff of Vitebsk Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection and Vitebsk Regional Library in the format of a dialogue platform and was prepared and held for the high school students of Gymnasium №1 named after Zhores Alferov and Vitebsk Secondary School № 2.

The head of legal, personnel and organizational work of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ludmila Kapranova highlighted topical environmental issues, spoke about the projects of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus and the activities of public environmentalists of Vitebsk region.

The Head of Vitebsk Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Sergey Lazuko told about the achievements of preservation of environmentally clean environment and environmental problems of Vitebsk. Sergey Lazuko handed over a two-volume edition «The Red Book of the Republic of Belarus» to the fund of the library.

The Head of Vitebsk Regional Library Tatyana Adamyan shared the experience of libraries on ecological education of youth and spoke about library projects of ecological orientation.

The pupils of Vitebsk Gymnasium No. 1 Polina Sinyakova and Elizaveta Pravitel presented their ecological project «Green School».

The library staff conducted a bibliographical review of environmental periodicals from the regional library and presented a book exposition «Ecology. Nature. Life».
