Literary and Musical Evening «Thin Candle of Faith...»

On the 9th of March the Library organized a literary and musical evening «Thin Candle of Faith...» as part of the Day of the Orthodox Book in the Library. The event was prepared in cooperation with the library of the Vitebsk Orthodox School of Theology named after A. P. Sapunov.
The evening gathered students of the above-mentioned school of theology, representatives of the Public Association «Belarusian Association of Former Underage Prisoners of Fascism», the clubs «Friendship» and «Golden Age», pupils of the Sunday school at the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God «The Healer», school students and the readers of the library. First vice-rector of the Vitebsk Orthodox School of Theology archpriest Konstantin Izofatov attended the event and delivered a speech. The students of the school of theology performed some sacred songs.
Poems by K. Balmont, B. Pasternak, B. Akhmadulina and L. Verner were read at the event. The employees of the library also prepared the book exhibitions «Mysterious Candle Flame» and «A Candle is the Symbol of Spirituality».
