Foreign Editions Department
Foreign Editions Department is a structural subdivision of the library, which provides users with publications in 36 foreign languages.
The library fund includes publications on country studies, language education, textbooks, grammar books, phonetics, lexicology, theory of translation and self-study books. Rich collections of modern and classical foreign literature are presented to users. Linguistic and branch dictionaries, reference books, encyclopedias are widely presented. Periodicals (newspapers, scientific-methodological and art-educational magazines) complement the department's collection. All the diversity of the collection is located in the e-catalog, which is kept up-to-date.
The meetings of English-speaking club and linguacultural meetings, thematic literary salons, book presentations and exhibitions take place in the Department.
MAIN TASKS AND ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT
efficient information and bibliographic services for all categories of users, organizations and institutions of the city and region, provision of publications in foreign languages;
formation of a universal fund of publications in foreign languages in accordance with the information needs of users;
promoting the status of books and reading in foreign languages;
assistance in the study of foreign languages by users of all ages and professional categories;
formation of users' information culture;
promotion of foreign literature;
scientific research and learning activity by course of the Department.
