Department of Art Literature
The Department of Art Literature saw the day as a separate structural subdivision of the library in 1967, and to this day it presents itself as an information, education and culture center combining modern information technologies with a traditional approach to the library work.
The collection of the Department has upwards of 37000 documents for all art forms: books, visual and applied art albums, art books on architecture, sculpture, photographic art, cinema, theatre, circus, variety art, and music. In addition, the Department boasts a solid collection of musical notation books.
Social and cultural activities are a significant part of the Department's work. They include theme nights, meetings with artists, book presentations, painters and drawing artists exhibitions, photographic artists exhibitions, arts and crafts displays.
