Catalogue Department
The path of each reader to information begins with a visit to the Catalogue Department, that serves as a means of orientation in the information space of the library. The system of catalogues and card files represents the content of library fund and inform users about the presence of a document on a variety of media in all branches of knowledge.
In addition to traditional catalogues, user can work with the electronic catalog, which provides the most operative and accurate search of information.
Beginning from 1997, specialists of the department implement retroconversion of card catalogs to reflect the retrospective bibliographic information about resources in all fields in the online catalog.
At the present moment, the library's electronic catalog contains the following databases, which include more than 600 000 bibliographic records:
