Awarding of the laureates of the Petrus Brovka Literary Prize

The awarding ceremony of the laureates of the Petrus Brovka Literary Prize of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee for 2024 traditionally took place on December 30 in the regional library.
This prestigious competition annually recognizes outstanding literary achievements of the region. The jury decided to determine the laureates in two nominations. Olga Rusilko, a writer, poetess and literary scholar, received the award for her work «Polessky Elecampane: an essay on the life and work of Vladimir Gnilomedov» in the nomination «Prose». Galina Zagurskaya, a poetess and artist from the city of Polotsk, was noted for her collection of poems «Sonnets» in the nomination «Poetry». Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Vyacheslav Durnov personally presented the diplomas to the laureates and expressed hope for their further creative success.
The ceremony brought together many guests, including the head of the culture department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Pyotr Podgursky, chief specialist of the culture department Denis Yurchak, chairman of the Vitebsk regional branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus Tamara Krasnova-Gusachenko, as well as representatives of the writers' community and employees of the regional library.
