Local History Meetings. Presentation of the book by Mikhail Leshchinsky «Little-known pages of the history of the Dubrovensky region»

On December 17, in the library, as part of the «Local History Meetings» series, a presentation of the book by the deputy chairman of the Vitebsk regional council of veterans, local historian Mikhail Leshchinsky «Little-known pages of the history of the Dubrovensky region» took place.
Mikhail Leshchinsky is a laureate of the honorary title «Person of the Year of the Vitebsk region», a tireless researcher of the historical past of the Dubrovensky region, the author of many articles about the hero of the Russian-Turkish war Alexander Kazarsky, a permanent active participant in the scientific and practical conference «Vitebsk region». One of the organizers of chess tournaments in Vitebsk, dedicated to Vasily Koren, Alexander Kazarsky, Yuri Smirnov, Petr Masherov, Andrey Usov.
The collection «Little-known pages of the history of the Dubrovensky region» includes materials from ten reports discussed at the scientific and practical conference «Vitebsk region» in different years. During the presentation, Mikhail Leshchinsky spoke about his work in the archives, libraries, museums of Belarus and Russia, interesting finds, which resulted in his publications in the collections «Vitebsk region». The great importance of these studies, confirmed by archival sources, was emphasized by the head of the Department of History and Cultural Heritage of the Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov Anatoly Dulov. Each of the speakers noted the importance of the published book for the preservation of our historical and cultural heritage, the education of youth on the best examples of heroism and devotion to the Motherland.
