Vitebsk celebrated the 100th anniversary of Belarusian cinema

The Vitebsk Regional Library took part in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Belarusian cinema.
On December 12, representatives of the Vitebsk Region leadership, the Belarusfilm National Film Studio, city cultural institutions and cinema fans gathered at the Cinema House.
The exhibition «Literary Vitebsk Region» presented various editions of the works of our fellow countryman, the classic of Belarusian literature Vladimir Karatkevich. Among them were «The Black Castle Olshansky», «King Stach's Wild Hunt », as well as a recently published book of translations of Karatkevich's works into Russian and Azerbaijani, donated by the chairman of the Union of Writers of Belarus Alexander Karlyukevich.
The culmination of the evening was the premiere screening of the film «Black Castle», based on the novel by Vladimir Karatkevich (directed by Kirill Kuzin).
