Vacations in the library are interesting and informative!

More than 450 schoolchildren of our city spent the autumn vacations in the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin.
Each visit began with a sightseeing tour, which surprised many people with the interior coziness, technical possibilities, quantity and variety of editions in the library fund.
Different departments of the library thought out and offered their author's projects for several age categories. Thematic library events were held during each day, engaging all visitors in reading and communicating.
The children recognized interesting facts from the history of the origin of writing, from the life of the creators of the Slavonic alphabet Cyril and Methodius and became participants of the intellectual interactive game «Slavonic writing. Book. Library», prepared by the subscription department.
Children's and youth departments talked about the history of origin and the process of creation and types of animation. The children enjoyed watching cartoons based on their favorite literary works.
The exposition «Every Book is a Curiosity» got acquainted the visitors of the exhibition hall «ExLibris» with rare editions of the past centuries in Belarusian, Russian and Western European languages, which can be viewed through the window glass. The staff of the Rare Book Department presented children and teenagers with unusual editions that can be used for games and quests.
During the local history quiz «Journey through the native land» middle school students shared their knowledge and discovered unknown facts about the nature, history and culture of our city and region.
Many readers heard the story of the childhood of Euphrosyne Polotskaya for the first time thanks to the battle play «The Choice of Predslava». The example of her personal commitment to reading and education revealed to the readers important details of her destiny and service to God.
At the safety lesson «Always remember the ABCs of the city» schoolchildren studied the rules of traffic and at the economic game «Visiting little economical dwarf» they learned the basic principles of planning a personal budget.
To enrich knowledge and skills, to learn to work in new techniques and to develop imagination and creative taste called for master classes in the library.
Pages of the fairy tale «Mrs. Zlyuka» by Sonya Bugaeva became part of the personal journey of each schoolchild during the interactive reading of the book. Children answered questions, proposed their own variants of events in the life of the obnoxious grandmother Mistress Zlyuka, and created images of characters based on their impressions.
The children celebrated the birthday of the famous teddy bear with their favorite characters from Alan Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh fairy tale. As a gift from the library, they took away a self-made clumsy bear.
The Department of Art Literature gathered children for a master class «Milky Way», during which children decorated a winged horse, which can do the most unusual things.
The children learned about the peculiarities of insects and their importance at the master class «The Amazing World of Nature».
Primary school students studied the characters of Belarusian mythology, peculiarities of local legends and legends, on the basis of which they created fairy-tale heroes with their own hands.
The project «Autumn Vacation in the Library» became an important event for everyone and will be continued in the format of various events during the winter and spring vacations.
