Meeting of the Coordination Council of public organizations and political parties of Vitebsk

On January 17, the extended session of the Coordination Council of public organizations and political parties of Vitebsk, devoted to the 85th anniversary of the formation of the Vitebsk region was held in Vitebsk regional library.
The deputy head of Vitebsk City Executive Committee Viktor Glushyn and the organizer of the event, the head of the Coordination Council of public organizations and political parties of Vitebsk Larisa Olenskaya greeted the audience with a warm welcome. The Chairman of Vitebsk City Council of Deputies Vladimir Belevich highlighted the issues of social and economic development of Vitebsk in his report.
A civic-patriotic project titled «Our City: Time and People», which tells about people from Vitebsk, who have made a significant contribution to the development of the city was carried out by Vitebsk public organizations. Participants of the project and members of the Presidium of Vitebsk City Council of Veterans Vasily Antonov and Evdokiya Kolosova shared their memories of how Vitebsk was built up in the post-war years and how the construction industry developed. The year 2023 will mark the 105th anniversary of Pyotr Masherov, whose personality was repeatedly mentioned by the participants of the meeting. The Head of the Vitebsk regional center of heroic and patriotic education of youth «Poshuk» Larisa Brueva shared her memories of the meetings with our famous countryman.
The library staff organized a book exhibition entitled «Vitebsk region are the milestones of history». The co-host of the event and the head of local history department Larisa Rogacheva outlined the basic milestones of the Vitebsk region history and talked about the great purposeful work conducted in the library for preservation and popularization of knowledge about the Vitebsk region. The Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater is also a real center of spiritual and patriotic education. The literary worker Yury Ivanovsky reminded about the history of the theater. After that the theater actors Olga Kuleshova and Svetlana Zhukovskaya performed brightly.
The participants of the cymbalist ensemble of Vitebsk children's art school named after A. Bogatyryov and a duet of guitarists, Tatyana Derevyanko and Anastasia Kolyada from the Children's School of Arts № 6 created a real festive mood.
