The results of the regional competition of book compositions «To see the country through the book: BELARUS»

On September 14, as part of the celebration of the Day of Libraries of Belarus, the library hosted an awards ceremony for the winners of the regional competition of book compositions «To see the country through the book: BELARUS» among specialists from public libraries in the region.

The competition was organized jointly with Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Cultural, Information, Sports and Tourism Workers as a part of the Year of Historical Memory.

To participate in the competition, employees of all library systems of the region presented 100 works. The book connected with Belarus became the central element of the booklook photo compositions. The plots of photo compositions were dedicated to traditional folk culture, the history of the native land, they reflected the love of reading and literature and original creative approach and humor.

The inspiration just for several works became a publication «Symbols of Belarus» about the most significant objects, phenomena and symbols of the sovereign Republic of Belarus; the story-confession «Maya Belarus» by Vladimir Lipski about the importance of its history and the significance of its roots; the classics of Belarusian literature – «Ears under your sickle» by Vladimir Korotkevich and «Nobleman Zawalnia, or Belarus in fantastic stories» by Jan Barszczewski. The memory of the Great Patriotic War was reflected in compositions with books by Ales Adamovich, Vasil Bykov, stories about the tragedies of Khatyn, Osveya, Glubokoe. Librarians presented collections of dishes of Belarusian cuisine with mouth-watering booklooks. The Chairman of Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Cultural, Information, Sports and Tourism Workers Elena Sabirova was invited to the jury under the leadership of the director of the Vitebsk Regional Library Tatyana Adamyan; a chief specialist of the main department of ideological work and youth affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Svetlana Dedinkina; photojournalist of the editorial office of the regional newspaper «Vitebskie Vesti» Dmitry Osipov; a teacher of the «Art and Design» department of the branch «Vitebsk State Technological College» of the educational institution «Belarusian State Technological University» Anna Zhukova ; Associate Professor of the Department of Design and Fashion of Vitebsk State Technological University, a member of the Belarusian Union of Designers Natalya Tarabuko. Noting the variety of the competition shots, a jury decided not only to determine the winners by the total number of points, but also to encourage individual works with special prizes from the jury members.

According to the decision of the jury, the awards to the winners of the competition and cash prizes from Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Cultural, Information, Sports and Tourism Workers were awarded to:

Grand Prix: photo composition «Paths of the native land» (Y. Kolas, «Simon the Musician»), author - the librarian of the 1st category of the Zvenyachi rural library No. 30 of Tolochin Centralized Library System Raisa Lukashevich.

I Prize: photo composition «Bread of Belarus» (photo album «Bread of Belarus»), author – the librarian of the 2nd category of the Uzmiony rural library of the State Cultural Institution «Miory Centralized Library System» Tamara Stepulenok.

II Prize: photo composition «In a partisan dugout» (P. Lebedev, «We are Alekseevtsy: notes of a partisan scout»), author – the librarian of the Kovali rural library-museum of the Liozno Centralized Library System Lyubov Kiseleva.

III Prize: photo composition «Fortress of Courage and Glory» (S. Bobrenok, «Near the Walls of the Brest Fortress: Notes of a participant in the defence»), author – the Head of the Service and Information Department of the Postavy Central Regional Library of the Postavy Centralized Library System Inna Bondarenko.

Personal special prizes «For the sincerity and harmony of images and high technical performance» from Dmitry Osipov were awarded to the librarian of the Selyavschina rural library (branch No. 18) of the Centralized Library System of the Rossony District Leokadiya Alekseenko for the composition «The pages of History Awakening» and to the librarian of the 1st category of the Zvenyachi rural library No. 30 of the State Institution of Culture «Tolochin Centralized Library System» Raisa Lukashevich for the work «Paths of the Native Land».

A special prize «For the creative atmosphere of creative work» from Natalya Tarabuko was awarded to the librarian of the service and information department of the Central District Library of the Lepel Centralized Library System Anna Pavlyuchkova, for the composition «The strings of a heart snap again».

Special prize «For a wonderful shot and a play on words in the name «IzumLyon» from Anna Zhukova was awarded to Natalya Guseva, librarian of the Usten rural library No. 35 of Orsha Centralized Library System, for the photo composition «IzumLyon».
