Visit of directors and specialists of Vitebsk libraries to the Pskov Regional Library

On June 2, a delegation of Vitebsk Region librarians visited the Pskov Regional Universal Scientific Library.
For many years the Vitebsk and Pskov regional libraries are the partners with friendly relations that allow to realize joint projects.
The meeting began with an introduction to the library. The General Director of Pskov Regional Universal Scientific Library Vera Pavlova talked about the changes and innovations in the library after the reconstruction.
During the tour around the library, the delegation visited the readers' service departments, got acquainted with the projects of the Regional Reading Center, visited the main storage department with the latest equipment and got acquainted with the two-stage reference library service.
After that a round table devoted to the patriotic education of youth was held. Among the participants of the round table were General Director of the Pskov Regional Universal Scientific Library Vera Pavlova, Director of the Vitebsk Regional Library Tatyana Adamyan, First Deputy Chairperson of the Pskov Oblast Committee for Culture Vera Alekseeva, Deputy Head of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Department of Culture Galina Barkevich, Chairperson of Trade Unions of Culture Workers of Pskov Oblast Natalya Rodionova, Chairperson of the Belarusian Trade Union of Culture, Information, Sport and Tourism workers Elena Sabirova.
The projects of Vitebsk regional library «Liberation of Vitebsk Region. 1943-1944», «Vitebsk region in the war of 1812», a report about the work of the Museum of the novel by V. Kaverin «Two Captains», a report about preservation and popularization of the creative heritage of V. Kurbatov and about the prospects of cooperation between the Vitebsk and Pskov libraries.
The Director of Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin Tatyana Adamyan, Deputy Director for the main activity Olga Komendantova and the Head of the Department of Periodicals Olga Shibeko were thanked for the long-term fruitful cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.
The main outcome of the meeting was the signing of the Agreement on Mutual Cooperation between the partner libraries.
The meeting was ended with a visit to the Cabinet of V. Kurbatov and the Museum of V. Kaverin's novel «Two Captains».
