On April 20, a round-table «Unity of the people is the unity of the country», dedicated to the Year of Historical Memory took place in the library. The topic of national unity, peace and preservation of historical memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War was mentioned in all the speeches.

The round-table was attended by the Head of Vitebsk Regional Library Tatyana Adamyan, the chief specialist of the main ideological work and youth affairs department of Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Natalya Neusheva, the director of Vitebsk branch of the International University «MITSO» Alexander Dedinkin, researcher of the modern history department of the Institute of History of NAS of Belarus, PhD in history Alexander Baranovsky, the chairman of the coordinating board of organizational structures of Vitebsk public associations and political parties Larisa Olenskaya, the first secretary of Vitebsk regional committee of BRSM Vladimir Babichev, the winner of the first Goodwill Games (1986), master of sports of international class, Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Volodko, the head of Local History department of Vitebsk regional library Larisa Rogacheva, pupils, students vand library readers.
