
Awarding the winners of the Petrus Brovka Literary Prize of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee

On December 27 the Vitebsk regional library hosted the ceremony of awarding the winners of the Petrus Brovka Literary Prize of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee for 2021.
It was decided to award the Petrus Brovka Literary Prize:
– in the nomination «Poetry» - to Anton Paraskevin (Viktor Ulyutenko) – (poet, writer, local historian from Shumilino) for the book of poems «The Road to Myself»;
– in the nomination «Literature for children» to Galina and Sergey Trafimov from Orsha for the books «What ears does everybody have? » and «What Grows on a patch?»
Victor Ulyutenko was awarded lapel badge «For Great Contribution to Literature» (2017) and the Francysk Skaryna Medal (2020). He is a practicing physician and continues to save lives of the region's residents in difficult epidemiological situation.
Galina Trafimova is a laureate of the honorary title «Person of the Year of Vitebsk region 2014», she was awarded the badge «For Great Contribution to Literature» (2014). Sergey Trafimov was awarded the badge «For Great Contribution to Literature» (2013). The Trafimovs are the winners of many literary prizes and competitions, the authors of many textbooks and manuals for schools in Belarus and Russia.
Deputy Chairman of Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Penin awarded the authors with Diplomas of laureates and wished them further creative success. Tamara Krasnova-Gusachenko, a chairperson of the Vitebsk regional branch of the Union of Belarusian Writers, congratulated her colleagues and higly appreciated their art. After that she read her new poem and emphasized the important role of writers in the public life of the country, in upbringing patriotism in the younger generation.
