Presentation of the book «Traditional culture and everyday life of Belarusians»

On December 9, the library hosted a presentation of the book «Traditional culture and everyday life of Belarusians» by Yekaterina Pivovar and Gennady Artemenok. The book was published in the series «The big encyclopedia of little professor».
The publication was presented by one of its authors - Associate Professor of the Department of Belarusian Linguistics at Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Yekaterina Pivovar.
The author of the idea of creating the book is the Head of the department of Belarusian linguistics, candidate of philological sciences, Associate Professor Gennady Artemenok died in April 2021. He was the head of the research and development project of the department of Belarusian linguistics «Belarusian language as a source of linguistic and cultural studies about state system, history and culture of the Belarusian people». Ekaterina Pivovar was speaking about the history of the creation of a linguistic and cultural dictionary about Belarus, describing in details the structure of the book and its use in pedagogical activities and regional studies. The reference book is beautifully illustrated and contains materials about the traditional way of life, festive traditions of Belarusians, the peculiarities of the Belarusian language, the world of Belarusian nature.
The Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Humanities and Linguistic Communications, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Svetlana Martynkevich and Associate Professor of the Department of Belarusian Linguistics, Candidate of Philological Sciences Elena Dedova congratulated her colleague on the release of the book.
The book will appear soon in the library collection.
