Presentation of history and patriotic project «Release of Vitebsk region.1943-1944»

On May 7, in the museum «Center for Contemporary Art» within the framework of the joint project «Chronicle of Memory», there is a presentation of the historical and patriotic project «Release of Vitebsk region. 1943–1944», prepared by the staff of the Vitebsk Regional Library named after Vladimir Lenin.

The head of the library Tatyana Adamyan opened the book exhibition «Light of the Big Victory» dedicated to the Victory Day, and the head of the Department of Local history literature and bibliography Larisa Rogacheva told about the project, which presents a chronicle of the events of the war years, facts, memories, photos and videos.

The multimedia project is based on documentary sources from the collections of the regional library and includes information from encyclopedic and reference publications, archival, cartographic documents, articles about the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, published in the periodical press. There is the 3-days library quilt «We remember! We are proud! » within the framework of the project. Together with the staff of the library and the museum, citizens could collect a canvas of memory, writing in the «Book of Memory» the names of their relatives – participants of the Great Patriotic War, or leaving their wishes to the veterans.
