On May 22, the Family Reading Day «Parents and Children on the Book Planet», dedicated to the International Family Day took place in the library.

The festival began on solemn note with a concert of creative teams of the State Educational Institution «Vitebsk Municipal Center for Supplementary Education of Children and Youth» entitled «A Family Warmed by Love» with the participation of the exemplary choreographic group «Funny merry-go-round» and the exemplary vocal group «Lada».

Game program «Boarding! » fascinated little guests of the library into a wonderful sea adventure. The guys had to complete many tasks of the pirates in order to get into the Shark Tooth team.

Petrushka invited little readers to the theater on sticks «I want to be an actor! », where the children played a performance based on the fairy tale by Irina Kholodnaya «Clean Kolobok».

Representatives of the center of educational services «Knowledgeland» held a competition of logic tasks. A friendly atmosphere, parents' assistance and a few tips - all this helped to complete the tasks up to an end, identifying the most skilful and fastest participant.

As a part of the library project «The World of Book. World of Creativity», a personal exhibition of creative works of pupils of the exemplary studio of fine arts «Suzhet» of the State Educational Institution «Vitebsk City Center for Supplementary Education of Children and Youth» «7-Ya» (teacher Irina Sedushkina) was opened.

The quest «Traveling around the house of books» introduced the children the departments of the library, in each of which it was necessary to complete a specific task and get a piece of a passphrase. They worked with illustrations in the department of art literature; solved the coded message with the help of magazines and tried to get to the library's website in the electronic reading room.

Children's neuropsychologist Tatyana Sidorenko conducted a workshop «Reading without torment» for children and parents with exercises that improve the fast-reading process and memorization of the reading texts.

The Day of Family Reading finished with a viewing of filmstrips: fairy tales were demonstrated with a filmoscope and the guests of the event voiced them.

The library readers were taking part in actions and games of the children's literature department: marathon of reading poems «Don't be bored, giraffe! », «Library family», «Reader's ribbon», «Are you reading? I am reading! Reading !!!», literary height meter «Grow to be a writer», reader's puzzletime «Someone, somewhere, wrote about something».

All participants of the events were awarded with sweet prizes and souvenirs.
