Lecture by Alexander Ivanov «Two Worlds: Childhood and War»

On April 26, as a part of the library project «Music for everybody», a lecture by composer Alexander Ivanov «Two Worlds: Childhood and War» based on the work of B. Tishchenko «Concerto for clarinet and piano trio» took place in the library.

This work was written by an outstanding St. Petersburg composer in 1990. The master of symphonies, the follower of his great teacher Dmitry Shostakovich, Boris Tishchenko embodied a genre solution that was innovative for such a composition, having created a concert for four soloists. The work is difficult in its inner content and performing technique.

As a child, Boris Tishchenko survived the siege of Leningrad, the evacuation and difficult post-war years, he saw his children's comrades killed and injured after stepping on shells ... These events have left a mark on the composer's soul forever. The music conveys the serenity of childhood and the terrible grin of fascism, which crippled the fate of people. The composer's appeal to peace is a final of the work.
