Summer for Reading: the Books You Want to Read

In the modern world, gadgets are rapidly displacing books. But we should not forget that reading books is an important component of the comprehensive development of a child. The German reading room presents an exhibition of children's literature «Summer for Reading: the Books You Want to Read».

The works of German children's writers are loved not only by children in Germany, but also around the world. The exhibition presents classical works, on which more than one generation of children grew up, as well as books by contemporary authors, including their translations into Russian. Among them there are works for every age: books with a minimum amount of text or text that does not have to be translated; books with the elements that develop fine motor skills: windows, moving parts, as well as fascinating stories with original illustrations for schoolchildren.

We offer everyone to make an illustration of the book they have read. Each participant will be stimulated by a small souvenir provided by the Goethe Institute in Minsk. The works are to be brought to the German reading room during the three summer months.
