Free Courses «Vitebsk: the real and popular history of the native town»
On December 17, a regular class of free courses «Vitebsk: the real and popular history of the native town» took place in Vitebsk Regional Library. The topic of the class was «Nesterka»: Performance-Rite».
Doctor of Arts, Professor Tatyana Kotovich chose the topic for the lecture for a reason. The thing is that the art critic prepared a book for publication under this title. The book is scheduled for release next year. In her speech Tatyana touched upon some interesting facts from the history of creation of the play – from the time of the first premiere to its modern production. She also spoke very heartily about the actors who created the images of the characters of «Nesterka», both main and episodic, on stage at different times.
Tatyana Kotovich drew the attention of the audience to the stage design of the play: the setting, costumes, production equipment, as well as to those buildings where the theater was located at the time of the play. Tatyana's speech was provided with a demonstration of rare photographs which visually displayed interesting facts.
