On September 21,2017 book presentation by Anton Paraskevin (Victor Ulyutenko) «Boulders of the Native Side» took place in the library. Victor Ulyutenko - local historian, poet, prose writer, doctor, member of the Belarusian Union of Journalists and member of the Belarusian Writers' Union. Writer was born and worked in Shumilino. Explores the history and culture of the Shumilino district, monuments of history and architecture.
«Boulders of the Native Side» is the sixth book of Viktor Ulyutenko. The writer was nominated for the National Literary Award in 2017. The chairman of Vitebsk regional branch of Belarusian Writers' Union Tamara Krasnova-Gusachenko, talked about the life of Viktor Ulyutenko and his creative path and handed him the highest award of the Belarusian Writers' Union – the medal «For a Great Contribution in Literature».
A chief specialist of main branch of Ideology, Culture and Youth Affairs at Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, member of Belarusian Writers Union Valery Marchenko, Deputy Chairman of Vitebsk Regional Organization of Veterans Mikhail Leshchinsky, public figure Zoya Krot and the head of poetry section of Vitebsk regional branch of the Belarusian Writers Union poet Nikolai Namestnikov are congratulated Viktor Ulyutenko with a well-deserved award and the publication of a new book. Writers' wife said warm words about the native person.
Many of works by Viktor Ulyutenko are dedicated to spiritual values and Orthodox shrines. For literary activity he was awarded a commemorative sigh «200 years of Christianity». Those present also learned why the boulders attracted the attention of researcher native land. The participants of creative evening were pleasantly impressed with songs on the words and music by Viktor Ulyutenko, whose recordings were made during the meeting. The author gave several copies of his books as a gift to the readers of regional library.
