Creative Workshop «Getting Ready for Christmas»

On the 20^th, 21^st and 22^nd of December the employees of the Reading Room for German Literature arranged pre-Christmas creative workshops for their young readers from the schools No. 14, 34, 43 and 45 of Vitebsk.

Apart from useful and enlightening insights into the traditions of Christmas celebration and doing crafts, the kids got the opportunity to touch a marvelous «Magic Merry-Go-Round» that put them into the realm of fantasy and magic.

This merry-go-round is part of the art project created by Vitebsk artist Natalia Bogdanova and Igor Kruchenko, who actually installed it at the Reading Room for German Literature for temporary use. The creators attended one of the workshops where they presented their work to the children, told them the story of its construction and explained the general idea of the project. Then they proceeded to become storytellers, coming up with imaginary stories along with the children. At the end of the event all participants of the creative workshops received handicrafts made by their own hands and sweet presents from Goethe-Institut Minsk.
