Literary Evening «A Soul Finds What It Is Looking for...»

On August 25, the library hosted a literary evening dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Oleg Saltuk, poet, journalist, laureate of literary awards of Vitebsk Komsomol named after V. Korotkevich, the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus and the magazines «Maladosts», «Constellation of Muses» and «Golden Cupid».

The anniversary was attended by the poet's colleagues and fellow journalists, relatives, cultural workers, readers and many sincere admirers of his talent. The participants remembered the poet, read his poems and expressed words of gratitude to him. Unfortunately, Oleg Saltuk passed away, so the participants could only remember him, read his poems and express words of gratitude to him. The life and work of Oleg Saltuk were described in the speech of Larisa Rogacheva, Head of the Department of Local History Literature and Bibliography. Alena Efimova and Anna Galimskaya, the employees of the department, read some of Oleg Saltuk's poems. The poetry of Oleg Saltuk was discussed in the speeches of Tamara Krasnova-Gusachenko, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus, poetess Olga Rusilko and writer Sergei Rublevski. Deputy Director of Shumilino Central Library Margarita Skuratova gave a welcoming speech on behalf of the poet's fellow-countrymen.

The event was also attended by the relatives of Oleg Saltuk, who said a lot of warm words about Oleg Vladimirovich and read their favorite lines from his poems.
