On the 10th of April the room of the Department of Local History Literature and Bibliography hosted a meeting with the poetess Maria Borovik, the resident of the village of Podsvilye, Glubokoye District.
Maria Borovik talked about her life and her artistic work, read several poems, very touching by their soft intonation and variety of poetic colors. Vladimir Popkovich, a poet from Vitebsk, praised the work of the poetess and wished her further inspiration and success in her career. Honorary Chairman of Vitebsk Regional Organization «Tavarystva Belaruskaj Movy» (Association of the Belarusian Language) Joseph Naumchik congratulated Maria with her 70th anniversary. The bibliographer Maria Belyatskaya read a poem of Anatoliy Konopelko that contains a few lines devoted to the poetry of Maria Borovik and how it affects the world around us. It seemed that the guests of the meeting shared the same opinion and listened with sincerity and warmth to every poem read by Maria Borovik.
