The meeting with the students-foreigners «Аt the crossroads of cultures»

On the 21st of May the employees of Foreign Literature Department organized the meeting with the students-foreigners «At the Crossroads of Cultures», timed to the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.
This holiday, proclaimed by United Nations General Assembly in December 2002, promotes cultural exchange and preserving of the existing national heritage.
During the meeting, the students of Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov introduced the audience unique Belarusian culture. In response, the students of Vitebsk State Medical University from Sri Lanka and Ghana told about their countries and folk customs, traditions, etc. This dialogue of cultures gave an opportunity for young people not only to learn new things about the culture of another nation, but also to communicate with the representatives of other countries.
The employers of Foreign Literature Department also prepared the book exhibition «Belarus invites = Belarus welcomes» and exhibition of the products of Belarusian folklore, which were provided by Vitebsk Regional Methodical Centre of Folk Art.
