An Electronic Resource «Afghanistan. No Right for Oblivion»

On the 15th of February on the site of Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin an electronic resource «Afghanistan. No Right for Oblivion», created to the 25th anniversary of the withdrawal of the Soviet troops from Afghanistan and dedicated to the soldiers-internationalists of Vitebsk region will start operating.

Resource represents a combined database and is the result of implementation of a joint project of Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin, Vitebsk Regional organization «Belarusian Union of Afghan War Veterans», Vitebsk City Museum of Soldiers-internationalists.

Full-text materials, photographs from the collections of the project participants, as well as personal archives of soldiers were used while preparing the database. Personified information on Afghan soldiers was given by district military commissariats of Vitebsk region and united urban military commissariat.

The electronic resource «Afghanistan. No Right for Oblivion» will be updated with new information concerning the events and the participants of the Afghan war. We invite all the interested parties to cooperate in order to specify information and the content of this database.

Official presentation of the resource «Afghanistan. No right for oblivion» will be carried out on the 20th of February at 14.00 in Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin. Everyone is welcome.
